Albert Bär

Mr. Bär received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in 1974. After post-doctoral studies at the University of Zurich, he led, from 1978 - 1980, a biochemical research group at F. Hoffman-La Roche & Co. AG in Basel, Switzerland. This group conducted toxicological, metabolic and clinical studies on certain food ingredients.

Prior to forming Bioresco Ltd. in 1986, Mr. Bär served for six years as Director, Research and Development, at Xyrofin Ltd., at that time a joint venture between F. Hoffmann-La Roche & Co. AG and the Finnish Sugar Co. Ltd.

Mr. Bär is the author of numerous scientific publications and is a member of several professional associations, including the Toxicology Forum, the International Society for Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, the European Food Law Association, and various food and nutrition related groups (ASPEN, DGE, IFT, SGE).

René Blum

Mr. Blum received his Ph.D. in metalorganic chemistry from the University of Basel in 1977. In 1978 he joined Lonza as an organic research chemist at the research center in Visp. In 1981 he started to work in Lonza Basel in the Toxicology and Safety Department and later joined the marketing department of Organic Intermediates and Nutrition Products. He was promoted to Head of Technical Marketing for nutrition products and also headed regulatory affairs for feed additives globally.

After a few years in project acquisition and business development. Mr. Blum became Head of Global Regulatory Affairs at Lonza’s Fine Chemical Division in 2006. In this position he was responsible for all regulatory matters concerning products for human and animal nutrition on a global basis. Mr. Blum was member of the Business Unit Management Team. He was active member in different international associations and chaired the vitamin working group of the feed association of Specialty Feed Ingredients and their Mixtures (FEFANA) during several years.

In 2015 Mr. Blum officially retired after working 38 years for Lonza.

Mr. Blum joined Bioresco as a senior consultant in 2016.

David Bill ⁄ Australia

Mr David Bill graduated from the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia) in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Following graduation he worked in the both the chemical, and mining industries in Australia and the chemical industry Europe in a number of analytical, research and development, and production roles.

In 1976 he joined Pfizer Corporation at their Sydney plant, initially with the chemical division as laboratory manager, then various laboratory and production roles in the pharmaceutical division before re-joining the chemical division as Technical Manger in 1981. He became Technical Director for the Asian region with the reorganisation of the division to Pfizer Food Science with responsibilities including regulatory affairs and commercialisation for new food ingredient, additives, and processing aid products.

In 1994 he established Axiome Pty Ltd as a specialist regulatory and scientific affairs consultancy for the Australian and New Zealand market offering clients expertise and project management services for regulatory approval of new ingredients for use in food and complimentary medicine products.

Mr Bill and Axiome Pty. Ltd. have had a very long association with Bioresco and have managed many projects on behalf of their clients for the Australia/New Zealand market.
